We all have experienced sinus pain in our life, and it is something which spoils your day and other activities you have planned to do. Most of us take paracetamol and feel relieved for a while, but the pain comes back again. Taking medications might make you drowsy, and some of you might even be allergic to them, and thus one of the best alternatives for curing sinus pain is to look for natural remedies which will cure the infections without causing any side effects or other problems.

The following are some of the natural remedies for sinus pain:

Steaming:

One of the best ways to relieve sinus pain is to allow steam to loosen up the sinuses and drain them out. You can do this by boiling water in a vessel and place the vessel in a table or a stand. Now take a blanket and cover yourself and also place it over the steaming pot. Now close your eyes and remove the lid of the vessel and allow the steam to loosen up your sinuses. You can blow your nose once in a while during the inhalation of steam.

Face-Steaming

Try to breathe in and out and repeat the same procedure once in 5 hours for better results. You can also add herbs or other pain relieving balms in the water and inhale the steam.

Keep yourself in an elevated position:

Most of us have trouble sleeping when we have sinus pains as it is tough for us to breathe through our nose. When you lay down in a flat position, you tend to increase the amount of mucus that gets accumulated in the nasal passages, and this will affect your sleep cycle. To prevent this, you need to lie down in an elevated position, and you can do this by placing two to three pillows under your head. When you sleep in an elevated position, you tend to sleep better, and you will also prevent mucus from getting accumulated in your nasal passage.

Keep yourself hydrated:

Most of us are not aware of the fact that even dehydration can increase the sinus pain. When your nasal passages are dried out, you tend to have increased pressure on our face, and this will cause pain. Try to consume plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated. Fluids will help you relieve the pain. But try to avoid drinking cold beverages with ice cubes.

Use saline flush:

Saline flush is a brilliant way to cure sinus pain. The salt in the water will increase the moisture content in your nose, and this will reduce your pain. There are also saline sprays which are available in stores, but one of the best things to do is to make your saline water at home and gargle using that water.
